We all know that our homes should be among the best places to be in. However, to man of us the phrase “to feel at home” makes little sense unless it is used to refer to a feeling of discomfort.

Step 1: Have appositive attitude For you to change your home into a place that you will love, it is important that you develop a positive attitude. This will help you have the optimism that is needed in this journey.
Step 2: Don’t run from your home It is a fact that many people prefer to go to parties and bars to relax instead of going to their homes after a long day of work. Avoid such habits because practicing them will just mean that you are an escapist.
Step 3: focus on relationships The difference between a normal house and your home is dependant on the relationships that are found in your house. People make the home not furniture. Ensure that your house is a place where people feel close to each other and there are strong relationships in that house. Therefore, the first step towards creating your home from a normal house is to ensure that you do all that you can to live peacefully with all the people in the house. If there are people who are constantly fighting I the house, make it you duty to create peace between them.
Step 4: Improve the physical surrounding After you have set out to building relationships in the house that next task that is ahead of you towards making your house turn into a home, is to ensure that the physical environment around you reflect what you desire inside you: peace and quite. This may mean that you will have to change the color of the house, change the furniture that is currently being used or even purchase new curtains for use in the sitting room. This alone might help create a very beautiful environment to live in.
Step 5: Give each other space It is always good to be together as a family. However, there are times when you need to give each other space. Understand when someone needs to have personal space and don’t take to mean that it is a sign of selfishness.
Step 6: Be welcoming to visitors People who are welcoming to visitors find their homes attractive to visitors. This means that such people are likely to stay in their homes hence building the environment at home.
Step 7: Clean your home After dealing with the physical environment that involved repainting the house and making changes to the furniture, the next thing that you need to do is to ensure that that your house is clean for use and able to make you feel comfortable in your own home. This does not in any way mean that your house should always be spotlessly clean to the extent of making people uncomfortable. It just means that you don’t get into the habit of living in a bad dirty house.
Step 8: Live actively If you want to turn your home into a nice place you live to live an active life. This means that you need to have a presence of mind for you to enjoy your surroundings.

* As you make the effort of converting your house into a home, ensure that you do not put too much attention on the material things at the expense of the immaterial ones.
Warning * When you set out to being clean, do not get too obsessed with it. Otherwise, you will end up reducing your joyful moments simply because you don’t have to make your house dirty. Always remember that a little dirt never killed anyone.
