Ever heard that old maxim “The best things in life are free?” Well, when it comes to dating, romance, and love, nothing could be more accurate.

Let’s just come out and say it – dating can be a costly endeavor for any guy. There are such a number of things you have to fret about paying for… such as gas, dinner, gifts, parking, movie tickets, and various other expenses simply to try to learn if the girl truly is into you or not.

And if you’re trying to MEET a woman, the outlook isn’t much better. You will have to pay money going out to bars and clubs, buying drinks, paying for parking, and all types of other costs associated with being “on the prowl.”

But if you decide to try to stay at home and take your chances dating online rather than facing the nightclub scene, your outlook isn’t that much better. An enormous quantity of dating sites on the internet today charge a large sum of cash from month-to-month to have you use their websites. And you know what? There’s not even an assurance you’ll find someone after paying those costly membership fees!

I know some guys that have spent upwards of $100 dollars joining various dating services only to have each email they sent out go UNANSWERED.

As I am sure you can imagine, they were not happy!

But here’s the thing – you don’t have to spend a ANY money at all on online dating sites if you don’t want to! There are a great deal of free options for men who need to save some cash but still want to meet women on the internet.

Here are the ones I prefer:

1. Plenty of Fish – this is one of the best, and most active, free web dating sites out there. You can sign up and be flirting over email in seconds. Because this site is so well liked, it can be hard to get attention from girls because of the amount of competition on there. Spend some time networking on the forum and be conscious of events going on close to you for a chance to mingle.

2. Facebook – Facebook is quickly becoming one of the highest trafficed web sites in the world, and for anybody familiar with this ever-growing social network, you’ll know there are a MULTITUDE of women on here! The hard part is actually MEETING them.

The hard part is MEETING them. Fortunately, there are a number of groups on Facebook made to help singles network and meet one another. Just search Facebook’s groups for dating and see what is in you are area. When you find a good club, join it and start contacting members and posting on the forums.

3. MySpace – MySpace isn’t as hot as it was once, but it is still good for one thing – dating hot chicks! Yes, there remain an enormous number of enticing younger girls on this web site and you can still use it to meet a wonderful woman.

One way is to do a member’s search in your area and try emailing some girls directly to start up a conversation. Or, you can go to the Personal’s section and see what girls are on the market in the “dating” category and contact them that way.

4. Craig’s List – though most people think of Craig’s List as a place to find a job or sell some old junk, its also a great place for dating. Craig’s List gets an insane number of people visiting it daily, and you can go to their personal’s section to post an ad or respond to a woman’s ad. Because of Craig’s List archaic design, it can be hard to keep track of your correspondence with others, but you can also meet some extremely interesting people on this site – not to mention hot women.

5. Chat Rooms – And if you truly are desperate to meet girls online for free then you can always join one or two chatrooms on the web and see who’s interested about chatting with you. Chat-rooms get a bad name due to some losers who abuse them, but they are a way to meet great people who share your interests.

Yahoo and MSN have surprisingly active discussion rooms that you can get access to through their messenger applications. You can download them for free and see what chatrooms are available. After you join a room, start talking and see if there are any girls in there who you can start a private conversation with.

It would be easy for me to go on for pages and pages about the varied strategies, tips, and tricks that go with each of these free methods for meeting women on the internet. But for the sake of saving brevity, these 5 tips should help you to get start started right away.

Just remember that despite what method you use to meet ladies for free online, you actually need to make them meet you offline as soon as you can in order to be successful. So be sure to ask for their number and try calling or texting them as swiftly as you can.

In the last article of this series, I showed you why the use of humor was a matter or critical timing. In this article, the last in the series, I’ll show you another issue of timing that is just as important – your departure!

You’ve found a nice young lady who has been swayed by your charms all night. Sounds good right? You are doing it well… but you have to leave. Or she does.

So what should you do? Obviously, asking her out for another date would be the wise thing to do. But past simplifying things, it’s a matter of HOW you do it that makes it effective.

Many guys fumble here. It’s understandable in many cases, as most men aren’t in tune with what is happening during a flirtation anyhow. If you are aware, it’s rather easy to do, as you’ll know if she’s interested in you.

Pay attention to her nonverbal cues. That is most important. More on this next article, but you should be able to slide into a date with her easily if they are there.

How do we do this? Simple. Be direct with her.

– “Care to meet me for coffee sometime this next week?” — “Maybe we could meet again soon. May I have your phone number?”

Being indirect about it tends to create apprehension. I’m not a big fan of saying something like “I really enjoyed talking to you and would like to do so again.” I believe in getting to the point of the matter.

If you’ve made a strong enough impression, you might be lucky enough for her to ask YOU for your number. That happening is really rare though – so definitely don’t count on it! And sometimes when this happens, she is trying to actually get rid of you!

A sneaky trick that might be worth trying is to let her know that you like a woman who isn’t constrained by societal rules. Be it a “free spirit”, or a liberated woman, acknowledging that it is acceptable to be that way might just convince her to close you. But again, don’t count on it.

So be direct, and confident. If you’ve done your work, you have very little to fear in regards to rejection!
